We offer both microsuction and water irrigation. Microsuction uses a gentle suction device to remove wax without liquid. Water irrigation involves flushing the ear with warm water to safely dislodge and remove wax. We’ll recommend the best method based on your ear condition.
Microsuction is often preferred for patients with narrow ear canals, history of ear infections, or when precision is needed. Irrigation is also effective for softer wax and is sometimes preferred for clients without contraindications. Your clinician will advise the safest option during your consultation.
Both methods are typically painless. Some people may feel slight pressure or mild discomfort, but most find the procedure quick and comfortable.
For water irrigation, we recommend softening the wax with Earol or olive oil drops for 3–5 days before your appointment.
For microsuction, softening is usually not necessary unless advised by your clinician.
Most appointments take around 20–30 minutes, including consultation and treatment. It may vary depending on the amount and condition of the wax.
All procedures are carried out by trained and insured ear care clinicians, following the latest safety protocols.
Yes - in fact, most people need earwax removed before hearing aid fitting to ensure proper function and accurate testing.
We’ll still carry out a full ear health check and advise you on next steps. A consultation fee may still apply.
